Welcome to Debra Ann Collection – Wear a Cape to Keep A Child Alive™
This fund raising initiative and website was inspired while I was looking at a video put together by the organizers of the Port Perry Gala to Benefit Keep A Child Alive (KCA). Please take a minute to look at this video in the “Benefits” section.
I am inspired to pursue this initiative on an ongoing basis by creating and selling capes through my website. For starters, I am sewing one style – a short cape, similar to the ones I have donated to the Port Perry Gala. Different styles will be added to the Collection over time.
I must tell you that I am crazy about capes. Because I have a passion for sewing I have a cape to match every outfit: capes done in solid colours, plaids, trimmed with Chinese brocade, short, long, made up in wool, cashmere, polar fleece, silk brocade, velvet. Lined, unlined. It’s fun to leave the home with a cape thrown over my shoulders.
I wear a cape over my fall and winter coats to keep me extra warm, and to add a bit of style to that same old coat. Every day as I step out I look different. And people would comment, ‘my, you have such a large wardrobe.’ For evening wear, sans coat, I don a long, flowing cape, with one side thrown over the left shoulder for an elegant and glamorous effect. And they keep me warm.
Warmth… By your purchasing a Debra Ann Collection cape, you also help to spread that warmth to children living with HIV/AIDS… across the globe.
Not only does it take a village, but indeed a universe to raise a child.
Debra Ann Collection donates C$60.00 from every sale to Keep A Child Alive organization.
Thank-you for your purchase, and please share this website with your friends and relatives.
With warm wishes,
